Holiday Screensavers


A computer user who wants to put a Christmas screensaver on his or her computer does not need go carry out a lengthy and time consuming search. The Internet has lots of information on Christmas screensavers. They are undoubtedly the most frequently requested of the holiday screensavers.

What can one find on a Christmas screensaver? Well, some depict Christmas trees; some depict a scene from “Twas the Night before Christmas.”  Some show an outdoor setting in a location with a white Christmas. One of the holiday screensavers recognizes the season before Christmas. It puts an Advent calendar on the monitor screen.

After Christmas Day people the world over celebrate New Year’s Day. Are there screensavers for New Year’s Day? Yes, there are. There are also screensavers for the Chinese New Year. Yet there are no screensavers for the Persian New Year.

A screensaver for the Persian New Year would be a great way to denote the arrival of spring. The first day of the Persian New Year is on the first day of spring. Since Persians use a table with seven different objects to greet their New Year, there is no shortage of potential images for a screensaver with the theme of Norooz (Farsi for “new year”).

The display of Halloween screensavers often precedes the display of the Christmas screensavers. The most favored of the Halloween screensavers are the ones that create a 3D image. Many computer users like to put a three dimensional haunted house on their computer monitor.

While Halloween screensavers focus on the ability to add 3D qualities to the screensaver image, the 4th of July screensavers focus on something else. Many of those particular holiday screensavers have animation. That animation permits the re-creation of a fireworks show. Animation can also be used to show a waving flag on a monitor screen.

Animated screensavers can also be found among the Mother’s Day screensavers. Some of those screensavers have rotating flowers. Some of them have flowers that appear on the screen briefly and then disappear.

What one finds in one of the holiday screensavers might be missing in a similar screensaver. None of the Father’s Day screensavers have animation. There is also no animation and no 3D qualities in the St. Patrick’s Day screensavers.

After Christmas, the 4th of July, Halloween and Mother’s Day, what holidays are most often recognized with one of the holiday screensavers? Thanksgiving screensavers are certainly popular. So are Valentine’s Day screensavers. In addition, there are a number of other holidays for which computer users have ordered screensavers.

Two Jewish holidays have been acknowledged by the makers of holiday screensavers. One can order a Hanukkah screensaver or a Rosh Hashanah screensaver. Perhaps new calendars can be expected. Such calendars would expand the category that now has only the Advent calendar.

While cultural preferences frequently drive a quest for a particular screensaver, patriotism can also motivate a search for one of the holiday screensavers. Some computer users choose to order the Memorial Day screensaver.

Sometimes both food choices and location can lead a computer user to request a special holiday screensaver. Every now and then some computer user places an order for a Tobasco Mardi Gras screensaver.
